YOU MIGHT BE A REDNECK …..
You might be a redneck if..... Although this one-liner has been made famous by Jeff Foxworthy, an American stand-up comedian, actor, television and radio personality, author, and voice artist.
Known for his "You might be a redneck" one-liners, Foxworthy has released six major-label comedy albums. His first two albums were each certified 3× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Foxworthy has written several books based on his redneck jokes. Example: You might be a redneck if….. your wife ever asked you to come in here and move this transmission so I can take a bath |
We, as Freemasons, frown on advertising our good deeds, preferring to let those who benefit from them
reflect its goodness. However, taking a cue from "You Might Be a Redneck If....” I thought that it might
be a fun and hopefully insightful for us to switch this one-liner around to; "You Might Be a Freemason
If...." and answer with those characteristics that we would expect our Brethren to practice daily as they
go about living their lives at home, work, public and the Lodge.
No greater thing can be said of Freemasonry than that if its teachings are applied earnestly in our daily lives, it is an ideal way of life. Therefore it is hoped that the following one-liners embody actual acts of goodness that, when added together, sum up the very teachings of our Fraternity as to show to the outside world we live in “Happy and Beneficial Effects of our Ancient and Honourable Institution”.
Though these acts are small within themselves, they can make a huge impact on those who benefit
from them while at the same time proving once again that our noble science does, in fact, produce better men, better husbands, and fathers, and build pillars in the community in which Freemasons live and work.
