TO RUMAH KANAK KANAK TRINITY FOR THEIR CHILDREN TO BE ABLE TO STUDY AT HOME

When it concerns charity the Brother Knights of Golden Chersonese Preceptory and Priory No. 290 know no bounds save that of prudence as they regularly and readily help, relieve and assist those needy people within the wider communities of Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Selangor where we meet. The spirit of giving is especially close to the hearts of the Brethren when it comes to assisting children amidst this terrible and lingering Covid-19 Pandemic.

Without any fanfare our Eminent Prior Anthony Ramesh Sivanathan at the request of Bro. Kt Lawrance Annies, the originator and coordinator of the project, on the 30th of June 2021 sent a short WhatsApp message to our KT-GCPP group appealing for the sum of RM3,600 to buy four laptops to give to the children of Rumah Kanak Kanak Trinity. This home is one of four Orphanages that GCPP regularly supports. The four laptops would enable the children to study online as schools continue to be closed due to the Covid-19 Emergency Movement Control Order (EMCO) in force.

What follows is a series of WhatsApp messages that reveal the kick-off the project, the generosity of the Brother Knights and how Bro Knight Lawrance Annies used his personal time and expertise to overhaul for laptops. Each laptop would have cost over RM2k but for his own adaption and upgrade old laptops were upgraded by him and he did an amazing job ! The notebooks are refurbished 5-6 years old units. He spent some extra money upgrading from HDD to SSD which boots faster in Windows. Used WPS office which is free version and compatible to MS Office.
