MARKS ITS MOST “SENIOR STATESMAN’S 93RD BIRTHDAY

The Lodge of St. George No. 1152’s most “senior statesman” W. Bro. Derek Hewett, turned 93 years young.

Although residing across the Causeway in Johor Bahru, The Lodge was determined that the event would not go unmarked. Accordingly, a special “Masonic cake” was prepared, replete with Square and Compasses, and on the day was presented to W. Bro. Derek at his home by The Lodge’s Senior Warden, Bro. Dominik Poignee. Special thanks go to Bro. Dominik for making this possible.

W. Bro. Derek remains active and his birthday coincided with the release of his new book, “A Banker in the Orient” which has proved highly popular. Expecting The Lodge to require up to 5 copies, he was somewhat surprised to find that almost every resident member of The Lodge requested a copy!
