FEBRUARY, 2019 – Installation Meeting
While the installation of a lodge’s Worshipful Master is cause for much celebration and ceremony yet charity did not escape the hearts and minds of The Lodge Singapore brethren when they held their annual Installation Meeting on the 3rd of February 2019.
Lodge Singapore for the year 2019 / 2020
On that night Worshipful Master Elect, Bro Roderick Cruz was installed by the outgoing Worshipful Master, W. Brother Robert Barrett for the ensuing year 2019-2020. The event was attended by some 60+ brethren from sister lodges and sister constitutions followed by a banquet dinner at The Masons Table Restaurant located in the Singapore Masonic Hall Board. That evening Worshipful Master Roderick Cruz made an appeal to the brethren present to pledge monetary donations for the Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home. A total of SD3,017 was pledged to support this worthy charitable cause.

WM Roderick Cruz gave the following speech to the delight of the brethren present:
"Worshipful Brothers, Brothers, Brethren and all, good evening.
Thank you for joining The Lodge Singapore installation meeting tonight. It is truly an honor to be installed as the Worshipful Master for the year 2019-2020. Firstly, I would like to give glory and gratitude to the Most High for all the favors and blessings we have already received from him. I would also like to thank my proposer Brother Wes Madayag and my seconder Brother Froilan Bulaong who paved the way for me to be initiated, passed and raised into Freemasonry and The Lodge Singapore in particular. Both of Bro Wes and Br Froilan are very close to me since we shared the same collegiate fraternity back in the Philippines. For me, the roles and responsibilities of a Worshipful Master means that one must carry himself with the highest of moral virtues while leading the members of his lodge by good example
Most of us aspire to become the Master of our mother lodge. Thus I am very fortunate to be commended [entrusted] with the title of Worshipful Master. The Past Masters of our lodge have always effectively carried out the roles and responsibilities of their position and I to aspire to accomplish the same. My plan is to organize multiple charity and fellowship activities while strengthening the bond of my lodge members by spending more time with my brethren above and beyond our regular meetings and festive board dinners. Secondly, I plan to knock at the door of your hearts to support a specific charitable institution that I would like to help during my year in office. The institution is the Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home located at No. 1 Thomson Lane Singapore. This facility takes care of the elderly who either do not qualify for government funded old age home or cannot afford the more expensive profit-driven private homes. Currently they have 110 aged residents that rely on their caregivers, food, medicines and clothing so as to better enjoy life during their twilight years. With your generosity, we can accomplish and alleviate their necessities while fulfilling two of the Grand Principles that our fraternity is firmly founded upon, which is Brotherly Love and Relief. Donation forms are placed on your tables and stewards of the lodge will collect them from you afterwards. In closing, I hope to serve the lodge to the best of my abilities and may this year be a fruitful and harmonious masonic year. So Mote It Be!"

In addition much needed personal hygiene items was donated by the Lodge, such as disposable shavers, mouth wash and dental tablets.
