In our District, we are fortunate to have a culturally diverse membership, which adds to the richness of the cross-cultural relationships we enjoy. For many of our brethren, English is a second language. Therefore, there are inevitably some errors in the pronunciation of some words, particularly words found in our ritual, which I describe as 'Dickensian' English. Even those of us for whom English is our first language are sometimes prone to error! I have put together an audio guide, to help correct some of the common errors. The Preceptor's Committee was formed to help lodges practice ritual in correct form. We also guide lodges in observing proper Masonic protocol, inside and outside the temple. We are not concerned with the history, meaning and symbolism of Freemasonry. This is the purview of other District education committees.
